How can we help? 👋

What are Stages?

Manage stages on a board as part of a workflow.

Think of stages as the steps in your workflow. Within a board, stages (vertical columns) serve as a visual guide for where the card is in the process.

In this article, you will learn:

  1. How to Navigate Stages on a Board

How to Navigate the Stages on a Board

There are features of the board that relate specifically to the stages. This interactive image highlights different parts of the board that are specific to stages.

How to Manage Stages

After you install a template board like Renter Leads, you have the ability to change the names of the stages on the board to match your company language.

To manage stages on a board, you can access them in the Board Settings menu under Card Settings. Then, click on the Manage Stages tab. You have the ability to adjust the titles, descriptions, and colors of each default stage.

Stage Groups

When building a board, it can be helpful to organize similar stages into groups.

For example, our Rental Leads Board in the Template Gallery has 5 main groups related to the different parts of the renter lead process: LeadsProspects, Scheduled Tour, Tour No ShowApplied, and Lost. Within each grouping, there are individual stages related to a part of the lead process: NurturingEngagedScheduled TourTour CompletedNo ShowApplicants, and Unqualified.

How to Create, Edit, or Delete a Stage

With a Template Gallery Board, all stages are installed for you. However, every company has its own language and you might want to change the titles of the stages.

💡
When deleting stages on a Template Gallery board, keep in mind that it will automatically pause any related automations and show a warning message on the automation. You can update the automation with the new stage or remove the automation. If you have any cards in a stage that you delete, they will still exist, but can only be found in List View since they are no longer in an existing stage.

To create a new stage, click on the 3 dots of any stage or access Manage Stages from Card Settings.
