The Mine Inbox is your personal workspace in Aptly’s Inbox, a central place to view all conversations that are specifically related to you. You don’t need to have a personal inbox connected in order to use this view. The Mine Inbox gathers anything that’s assigned to you, shared with you, snoozed by you, or set as a reminder, essentially, anything that’s “mine.”
Default Folders in the Mine Inbox
The Mine folders are in the left sidebar: Assigned to me, Following, Snoozed, Reminders, and Flagged. This screenshot illustrates navigation, not who has access to a conversation.
Within the Mine Inbox, you’ll find several default folders that organize your conversations:
1. Assigned to me
This folder displays every conversation that’s been assigned to you from any shared inbox across your company. It’s the easiest way to keep track of messages that you’re responsible for responding to.
2. Following
This folder shows every conversation a teammate has looped you in on, even if it isn't assigned to you. Once you're added as a follower, you have full visibility into everything happening in that conversation, no ownership required. Followed conversations can be open or closed, so this is the easiest way to stay in the loop on threads you care about without adding them to your own queue.
Following is the current name for the former Shared with Me view. There is no longer a separate Shared with Me folder.
3. Snoozed
Any conversation that you snooze will appear here until it’s reactivated.
Snoozing allows you to temporarily remove an email from your main inbox until a later time. Once a snoozed item reaches its scheduled time, it automatically moves back into your main inbox.
The Snoozed folder also displays a count of how many conversations you currently have snoozed.
4. Reminders
Reminders help you follow up on messages that need attention later.
When setting a reminder, you can choose:
- To be reminded regardless of reply, or
- Only if the recipient hasn’t replied by your selected time.
You can also add a custom note to your reminder, which will display in the browser notification and in the banner at the top of your inbox when it’s triggered.
5. Flagged
This folder holds every conversation you've flagged, no matter which inbox it came from. Flagging is a simple way to hold onto a conversation for later, whether you need it on record, want to reference it down the line, or just want a reliable way to find it again. Since flagged conversations can span any inbox you have access to, this folder gives you one place to see them all.
Connecting a Personal Inbox (Optional)
If you connect a personal work inbox (for example, your individual Gmail or Microsoft account), it also appears in Mine. Personal does not mean that every conversation is visible only to you. Access can be granted through sharing and company permissions:
- Personal inbox monitoring requires the appropriate permissions on both the inbox owner’s role and the monitoring user’s role.
- Automatic conversation sharing requires both the contact-type role permission and the source inbox’s automatic-sharing setting. It grants access to matching shared conversations, not every message in the inbox.
Ask your administrator to review these settings if you need to confirm who can see a conversation. See User Roles and Permissions.
You can customize your personal inbox by:
- Adding specific folders from your email provider (including subfolders)
- Selecting topics that you want to view
- Choosing contact types relevant to your messages
These choices organize your view; folders, topics, and filters are not access permissions.
Summary
The Mine Inbox brings all of your individual work into one place — assigned items, shared conversations, snoozes, and reminders — helping you stay organized and focused on what’s most important to you.
