When a mirror field or linked location looks out of date, first check the source record already stored in Aptly. Updating a card may prompt linked values to refresh, but this is not the same as requesting a new PMS sync. Do not use this procedure as proof that external PMS data was fetched or that changes were written back to the PMS.
Field edits—including a temporary checkbox or a bulk update—can trigger automations. Review the affected rules and linked integrations before changing anything. Test on an isolated sample record first, then compare the source and destination values and check for unintended actions. If the source data in Aptly is stale, investigate the integration rather than repeatedly editing cards.
How to Make an Update to a Card
- Add a new field on the cards. We recommend adding a checkbox field titled “Update Card.”
- Open Advanced Settings > Board Fields.
- Click + Add Field.
- Select Checkbox.
- Name it Update Card.
- Click Save.
- Select all applicable cards.
- Click Update fields.
- Locate Update Card in the list.
- Check the box.
- Click Update and Confirm action.
- Deselect cards.
Reopen the sample card and compare its linked values with the source record in Aptly. Only expand to other cards after confirming the intended result and reviewing automation effects. If the values still differ, stop and investigate the relationship or sync; do not assume another bulk edit will fix it.
