AI in the Inbox helps you work faster, respond smarter, and stay organized—all without leaving your email thread.
AI is a Premium subscription feature. If you’re interested in upgrading, go to
Settings → Subscription → Manage to upgrade your plan to include AI. Premium includes additional features beyond AI as well.
How to Enable AI in the Inbox
Once you have Premium, here’s how to leverage AI in your inbox:
AI Inbox features must be enabled individually for each inbox. Follow the steps below to turn on AI for a Personal or Shared Inbox.
Step 1: Navigate to the Inbox Settings

- Go to Settings.
- Choose one of the following:
- Personal Inbox (to enable AI for your own inbox), or
- Help Desk (to enable AI for a shared inbox).
- Select the inbox you would like to edit.
Step 2: Enable AI Features

Within the inbox settings, locate the Inbox Features section.
You’ll see checkboxes for the following AI options:
- AI Summarization
- AI Categorization
- AI Auto Drafts
- AI Sentiment
Check the boxes for the AI features you want to enable.
Click Save.
Step 3: Refresh Your Inbox
Once saved, AI features will be available in that inbox.
If you do not see them immediately:
- Refresh your browser, or
- Log out and log back in.
Important Notes
Generate Summaries on Demand
The current conversation view does not display an automatic summary at the top of each thread. Open AI Assistant from the sparkle icon in the conversation toolbar, then choose Summarize this email or enter your own request.
For the current conversation controls, see Working Within a Conversation.
AI Sentiment Visibility
Sentiment now appears on the contact record, rather than as an indicator on each conversation. Conversation preview-text settings do not restore the old thread-level sentiment display.
Once enabled, AI features will be active for that inbox and ready to help with summaries, categorization, drafting responses, and sentiment analysis.
