AI can help you quickly generate content for an HTML template directly within the template editor. This allows you to combine AI-generated messaging with the formatting and layout options available in the HTML template builder.
Follow the steps below to create an HTML template using AI.

Step 1: Create a New Template

- Go to the Template Library.
- Click Add Template.
- Select Start from Scratch.
Step 2: Open the HTML Template Editor
- Toggle the template type to HTML.

- Click Edit to open the HTML template editor.

At the top of the editor, you’ll see the AI Generate button.
Step 3: Generate Content with AI
Click AI Generate to open the AI generation window.

From here, you’ll configure the AI settings used to create your content.
Configure Your AI Settings

You’ll be able to select the following:
Tone
Choose the tone of the message, such as professional, friendly, or direct.
Voice (Role)
Select the role that should be writing the content. For example:
- Property Manager
- Maintenance Coordinator
- Leasing Agent
- Team Lead
Description
Describe the content you want AI to generate. Being detailed will help produce more accurate results.
Example:
“Create a move-in checklist email for a new tenant that includes instructions for utilities, key pickup, inspection details, and first rent payment reminders.”
Output Format
Select the format of the generated content, such as:
- Complete message
- Short text
- Long text
- Bullet points
Board Selection
Choose a board so AI can automatically include relevant merge fields from that workflow.
Knowledge Articles (Optional)
Attach internal knowledge articles to provide additional context and ensure the content reflects your existing processes.
Step 4: Review and Refine the Generated Content
Click Generate.
AI will create the content based on the details you provided.
If changes are needed, you can add instructions in the adjustment field to refine the output, such as:
- Add numbered steps to the checklist
- Include a greeting using the first name merge field
- Add unit information before the checklist
- Make the message more concise or more detailed
You can regenerate or refine the content as many times as needed.
Step 5: Insert the Generated Content
Once you are satisfied with the generated content:
- Click Use This Content.
The AI-generated content will be inserted into the template editor as a text block in the first section of your template.
From there, you can use the HTML template builder to:
- Adjust formatting
- Move or add content blocks
- Insert images or buttons
- Customize the layout of the message
Step 6: Finalize and Save the Template
Before saving, make sure to complete the following:
- Enter a Template Name
- Add an Email Subject
- Select the appropriate Folder
- Choose the Related Board
- Add an internal Description for your team if needed
- Review merge fields and formatting
Click Save once everything is finalized.
Your AI-generated HTML template is now ready to use.
