Setting Up AI in the Inbox

Enable AI in the inbox

AI in the Inbox helps you work faster, respond smarter, and stay organized—all without leaving your email thread.

💡

AI is a Premium subscription feature If you’re interested in upgrading, go to

Settings → Subscription → Manage to upgrade your plan to include AI. Premium includes additional features beyond AI as well.

How to Enable AI in the Inbox

Once you have Premium, here’s how to leverage AI in your inbox:

AI Inbox features must be enabled individually for each inbox. Follow the steps below to turn on AI for a Personal or Shared Inbox.


Step 1: Navigate to the Inbox Settings

  1. Go to Settings.
  1. Choose one of the following:
      • Personal Inbox (to enable AI for your own inbox), or
      • Help Desk (to enable AI for a shared inbox).
  1. Select the inbox you would like to edit.

Step 2: Enable AI Features

Within the inbox settings, locate the Inbox Features section.

You’ll see checkboxes for the following AI options:

  • AI Summarization
  • AI Categorization
  • AI Auto Drafts
  • AI Sentiment

Check the boxes for the AI features you want to enable.

Click Save.


Step 3: Refresh Your Inbox

Once saved, AI features will be available in that inbox.

If you do not see them immediately:

  • Refresh your browser, or
  • Log out and log back in.

Important Notes

AI Summaries Are Not Retroactive

AI summarization will not automatically generate summaries for emails that were already in your inbox before enabling the feature.

However, you can manually generate a summary at any time by:

  • Clicking the AI button at the top of an email, or
  • Using the AI Assistant at the bottom of the thread.

AI Sentiment Visibility

AI sentiment appears within your email conversations and in the conversation list.

If you choose to hide preview text in your inbox conversation list:

  • Sentiment will also be hidden if there is no related card attached.

If sentiment visibility is important for your workflow, keep preview text enabled.


Once enabled, AI features will be active for that inbox and ready to help with summaries, categorization, drafting responses, and sentiment analysis.
