To send SMS messages for your business in the United States, A2P 10DLC registration is required. This is a compliance requirement enforced by carriers and industry regulations to ensure proper business messaging practices.

Before You Get Started
- The A2P 10DLC registration wizard is available to admin users
- You’ll need to contact your Account Manager or Implementation Representative to have the wizard enabled
- You must connect a Twilio account to complete registration
Access the A2P 10DLC Registration Wizard

- Go to Personal Phone Inboxes
- Connect your Twilio account (if not already connected)
- Once connected, you’ll see a “Steps Needed for A2P 10DLC Registration” section
If you already have an existing Twilio account, you can sync it to view and use your existing registration data.
Overview of the 4 Registration Steps

The registration process consists of four required steps:
- Create a TrustHub Profile Verify your business identity with Twilio
- Register Your Brand Submit your business information to The Campaign Registry (TCR)
- Create a Campaign Define your messaging use case
- Assign Phone Numbers Link your phone numbers to your approved campaign
Step 1: Create a TrustHub Profile

- Click Get Started or navigate to TrustHub Profiles
- Fill out the required business verification fields
- Click Create Profile
Once submitted:
- Twilio may require verification
- Status updates will appear directly in Aptly(no need to log into Twilio separately)
Step 2: Register Your Brand

After your TrustHub profile is approved:
- Enter your business details
- Some fields will auto-populate from your TrustHub profile
- Add:
- Business contact information
- Business address
- Click Register Brand
This submits your business to The Campaign Registry (TCR) for approval.
Step 3: Create a Campaign

Once your brand is approved, you can create your messaging campaign:
- Select your Messaging Service
- Choose your Use Case (what types of messages you’ll send)
- Complete the guided form

- Review and update any text to accurately reflect your business use case
- Ensure your messaging is clear, compliant, and aligned with how you plan to use SMS
After submitting:
- You’ll receive status updates directly in Aptly
- Approval times may vary depending on review requirements
Step 4: Assign Phone Numbers
Once your campaign is approved:
- Link your phone numbers to the campaign
- This enables your numbers to send compliant SMS messages
