You have the ability to communicate with your customers and your teams through various conversation channels in Aptly. You can compose an email, SMS, or make a phone call from your inbox or on a board. This article will show you how to compose single messages; however, in Aptly, you can also compose bulk messages. Composing a New Message
Compose a New Message in the Inbox

Composing a new message is easy! Aptly allows you to create a new message right from your inbox.
- From your Inbox, click the plus icon at the top of the browser.
- Select if you’d like to create a new email, text message, or make a phone call.
- If you choose to create a new email or text, a composer window will open where you can enter your message.
Compose a New Message from a Board
On the card, select the paper airplane icon.

Then, select email, SMS, or phone call.

When you send an email or sms or make a call from a card, you can select the contact type to contact.
On the board, you can click the plus icon at the top to start a new conversation.

Composer Window Details
There are 3 different types of composer windows in Aptly.
- Single Email Composer Window
- Single SMS Composer Window
- Bulk Email Composer Window
Single Email Composer Window

The single email composer has many features that allow you to compose an email message to efficiently communicate with your customers and team members. Click the red icons on the image for more details about the single email composer.
Single SMS Composer Window

The Single SMS composer window will allow you to send a text message to a contact. SMS is text only.
Be mindful of the number of characters you type in the Content area. At the bottom of the composer window, Aptly will tell you how many SMS messages your message will send.
Bulk Email Composer
The bulk email composer window appears when multiple contacts are selected. This allows your company to send out email campaigns that can be tracked. To find more information on setting up a Bulk Email Campaign, check out this article here.
