Aptly’s Bulk Email feature allows you to send bulk emails to any group of your contacts. Using a communication template, you have the ability to run Email Campaigns from your Inbox in Aptly. Aptly also provides analytics for Email Campaigns so that you can track open and click rates among other useful and important data.

How to Enable Bulk Email (Admin only)
As an Admin, you have the ability to enable Bulk Email for users on your account.
- Click the Settings icon in the bottom left corner.
- Click Company Info & Team under Company Settings.
- Under Roles & Permissions, choose the role that you would like to enable bulk emails on and click the pencil icon.
- Select Email - Allow sending of bulk messages.
- Click Save.
How to Send Bulk Emails from a Board
- Choose a Board.
- Find the stage and click on the More menu (3 vertical dots). Click on Select All or click on the checkbox in the bottom left corner of each card you want to include.
- Click on the Bulk SMS or Bulk Email icon.
- Check the contacts list to ensure that all intended contacts are on the list.
- Add a title to the campaign - this is how you will identify it in the Email Campaign Insights.
- Choose the Inbox you will send the email or SMS.
- Add the Subject - this is what recipients will read in their email subject.
- Click on Create New to design a new Communication Template in the HTML Editor or Select a Communication Template by clicking on Choose from Library. Once you’ve selected a template it will appear in the message window. The Communication Template will show as added by appearing as a box with the template title. If it’s a template with merge fields, it will appear in a content box below.
- When your message is ready to send, click Send.
How to Send a Bulk Email from the Contacts Directory
- Head to your Contact Directory.
- Define your audience for the bulk email by using the filter at the top of the directory list or clicking on a Contact Filter.
- Once you’ve chosen your audience, click the first checkbox in the column to bulk-select every contact or individually select each contact.
- Click the Bulk Email or SMS icon that appears when multiple contacts are selected. A new window will pop up.
- Check the contacts list to ensure that all intended contacts are on the list.
- Add a title to the campaign - this is how you will identify it in the Email Campaign Insights.
- Choose the Inbox from which you will send the email or SMS.

How to View Bulk Email Analytics
When you send a bulk email, it becomes an email campaign. You can view the analytics for each Bulk Email Campaign in Inbox Insights. The campaigns will be organized by Title and Date and you can view overall analytics. You can click on each Email Campaign to view details. More details on Inbox Insights can be found here.
To access Inbox Insights, click on Inbox Configuration at the bottom of the Inboxes Menu. Then, click on Insights.
Then, click on Campaign Breakdown to see a list of all of your Bulk Email Campaigns.
