When using Twilio browser calling in Aptly, you can control whether or not you receive incoming calls by updating your call availability status.
This is especially helpful for property management teams who need flexibility throughout the day—whether you’re on a call, touring a property, or focusing on tasks without interruptions.
What is Call Availability?
Call availability determines whether your browser will ring when a call comes into a Twilio line you’re assigned to.
You can:
- Receive calls when you’re available
- Temporarily pause calls using Do Not Disturb
This allows you to stay productive without missing important communication.
Turning On Do Not Disturb
You can enable Do Not Disturb (DND) at any time directly from your avatar.

Steps:
- Click your avatar in Aptly
- Select Do Not Disturb
- Choose a duration:
- 15 minutes
- 1 hour
- Until you turn it off manually
Once enabled, your browser will no longer ring for incoming calls.
Turning Off Do Not Disturb
To resume receiving calls:
- Click your avatar
- Toggle Do Not Disturb off
Your availability will immediately update, and your browser will begin ringing for incoming calls again.
Viewing Call Status in the Dialer Widget
You can also quickly check your status from the call widget in Aptly:
- The widget will indicate whether Do Not Disturb is on or off
- This gives you a quick visual confirmation of your availability without navigating away from your current task
Why This Matters for Property Management
Managing your call availability helps your team operate more efficiently:
- Avoid interruptions while handling resident issues or internal tasks
- Prevent missed calls by ensuring only available team members are ringing
- Support team workflows by allowing others to pick up calls when you’re unavailable
For example:
- A leasing agent can pause calls during a property tour
- A maintenance coordinator can temporarily disable calls while dispatching vendors
- Team members can stagger availability to ensure coverage throughout the day
Important Notes
- Your browser must be open to receive calls
- Do Not Disturb only affects incoming call notifications—you can still make outbound calls
- If multiple users are assigned to a line, calls will continue to ring for others who are available
Summary
With call availability settings in Aptly, you can:
- Control when your browser rings for incoming calls
- Temporarily pause calls using Do Not Disturb
- Quickly toggle availability from your avatar or call widget
- Help your team manage call coverage more effectively
