Views allow you to see your board’s data in different ways — helping you and your team manage workflows, track progress, and visualize information clearly.
Every board includes several default views, and you can add more to fit your process.
Default Views
- Kanban: Track cards as they move through stages of your workflow.

- Table: View board data in a structured list or spreadsheet format.

- Diagnostics: Review workflow automation and performance (covered in a separate article).

If your board was created from a template, you’ll also see an Embedded Miro board, which visually maps out automations and workflow design.

Board View Permissions
To create, manage, or edit board views, specific permissions must be enabled. These permissions control whether a user can add new views or modify existing ones on a board.
Available Board View Permissions
Can install default board views
Allows users to add additional default board views, including Kanban and Table views, to a board.
Can modify default board views
Allows users to edit existing board views. With this permission, users can click the cogwheel icon on a board view to update its configuration.
Can modify public board settings
Allows users to update board-level settings such as automations, forms, and other board configurations. While this permission is not specific to board views, it is often required when managing broader board behavior.
Users without the appropriate permissions will be able to view board views but will not be able to add, edit, or manage them.
Permission | What This Allows |
Can install default board views | Add new default board views (including Kanban and Table views) to a board |
Can modify default board views | Edit existing board views using the cogwheel icon, such as updating layout or view settings |
Can modify public board settings | Update board-level settings like automations, forms, and other configurations that may impact how views function |

Adding New Views
Click the plus (+) icon at the top of your board to add a new view. You can create multiple versions of the same view type (like several Kanban or Table views) for different purposes — for example, one filtered by property type and another filtered by status.

Available View Types
- Kanban View: Cards displayed by stage or status.
- List (Table) View: A customizable list with filter and grouping options.
- Calendar View: Cards displayed by date, such as upcoming tours or deadlines.
- Tasks View: A focused view of all tasks on the board.
- Reports View: Summaries and metrics for your board data.
- Knowledge View: A built-in space for documentation related to your board.
You can also embed tools like YouTube videos, Google Sheets, Google Docs, or Power BI dashboards directly into your board views.
Managing Views

- Reorder views: Click the three horizontal lines next to your view tabs.
- Clone, rename, or edit: Click the more options (⋮) menu while viewing any view.
- Private or Protected: Keep a view personal (private) or share it safely with your team (protected).
