How to Set Up Monitored Inboxes

Settings for Monitored Inboxes are actually found in Roles and Permissions. You’ll set up Roles that will need monitored inboxes - any inbox that you need to track for compliance or training purposes. When you set up Monitored inboxes, keep in mind that one role must be set up to view inboxes (channels) while the other role is set up to allow monitored access.

Set Up Admins to View Monitored Inboxes

  1. Click on your Avatar > Settings > Company Info and Team.

  1. Scroll down to Roles & Permissions.
  1. Select a Role to update. Anyone with this role will have access to Monitored Inboxes. Typically, this would be an Admin role. Click on the pencil icon to edit.

  1. Select the checkbox for Channel Monitoring Admin - Can read access enabled channels.

  1. Click Save.

Now the Admin role will have access to any role that has Channel Monitoring Access enabled.

Set Up Roles with Monitored Inboxes

  1. Edit the role that will be monitored.
  1. Select Channel Monitoring Access - Personal channels are viewable by Admin.

How to View Monitored Inboxes

To view monitored inboxes, you’ll need to be an Admin. Any roles with monitored inbox access will show at the bottom of your inboxes menu in the Inbox.

Click on the inbox to view any messages. Opening a message will not mark it as read for the inbox owner, however, it will show in the history of the email.
