Use Identity to find Hiro’s profile, voice, and launcher options. Use Soul to choose response preferences and add instructions about how you want Hiro to work with you.
Before you begin
- Open Hiro in the correct Aptly organization.
- Decide whether you are changing presentation, response preferences, or business information. Business information belongs in the separate Understand Hiro Memory and Knowledge workflow.
- Keep personal instructions focused on your working preferences. Avoid passwords and other secrets.
Review Hiro’s profile and appearance
- Select Identity in the bottom navigation.
- Open the Identity card.
- Review the available fields and options:
- Name: Up to 40 characters.
- Avatar: PNG or JPEG, up to 2 MB.
- About Hiro: Up to 280 characters.
- Voice: Available choices and preview controls.
- Launcher: Floating button, Hanging off the page, App header, or Left sidebar.
- Before selecting a voice or launcher, note that the interface says those choices save immediately.
- After any change, reopen Identity and check the displayed selection.
The launcher options are different ways to open the in-app Hiro assistant. They do not establish separate agents or support for phone, text, or email conversations with Hiro.
Set response preferences in Soul
- Return to the Identity overview and open Soul.
- Choose a tone: Friendly, Professional, Direct, or Playful.
- Choose an answer length: Short, Balanced, or Detailed.
- Review the Ask before sending, Suggest next steps, and Use emoji switches.
- Scroll to Additional instructions. This field is labeled For you and allows up to 2,000 characters.
- Add a specific preference, such as “Start with the next action. Use short bullets for longer answers.”
- Select Save changes. The panel says changes can take up to five minutes to take effect.
- Reopen Soul to check the stored values, then use a simple question to assess whether the response matches your preference.
Soul groups the tone, answer length, and behavior controls. Scroll below these controls to reach the full Additional instructions field.
Write useful personal instructions
Be concrete about the output you want. “Use a short summary followed by the open questions” is easier to apply than “Be more helpful.” Keep instructions consistent with your selected tone and answer length.
If a preference is important to a particular request, include it in that request too. For example: “Give me only the three tasks that need my attention today.”
What to expect
Identity and Soul give you a place to review and set these preferences. Check both the saved controls and the resulting answer rather than assuming a change worked because you selected it.
Important limits
- Check the stored values and a later response after saving preferences. Do not assume a selection took effect without checking.
- Ask before sending does not establish that turning the switch off lets Hiro send messages directly. The email workflow described here ends in a composer that you review and send yourself.
- A selected voice does not prove that Hiro can make calls or join meetings.
- Personal response preferences are separate from the Whole team fields in Memory.
