Every signer gets their own signing link. You can copy it and share it directly when a signer can't find their email or when you're helping them in person.
Find the document
Open the document from the Aptly Sign view on a board, or from the main Aptly Sign dashboard. Find it in the table and select its name.
Copy a signing link
Inside the document, select the link icon in the upper right. You'll see a separate link for each recipient. Each link is unique to that person, so make sure you share the right one with the right signer.
For each link you can:
- Copy it and share it directly with the signer.
- Resend the invitation email.
- Renew the link. This creates a new link and makes the old one stop working.
Include a signing link in a template
For an email or SMS template, insert the {{esignatureSigningUrl}} merge field from the picker instead of pasting one signerโs copied link into a reusable template. Check the rendered message and intended signer before using it with real recipients.
Follow the signing-link steps in Use merge fields in templates.
When links stop working
- A signing link that hasn't been used expires after 10 days, and a new invitation is sent to the signer. If they can't find it, ask them to check spam or select Resend Invitation.
- A document past its expiration date can't be signed. Reset the expiration, or use Edit & Resend to send a new revision.
- If a document is replaced with Edit & Resend, archived or deleted, its old links stop working. Everyone gets new links when you use Edit & Resend, so share the newest ones.
When this helps
- A signer can't find the email.
- The original email expired or needs to be resent.
- You're helping someone in person.
- The signer is signing in your office, such as on an office computer or iPad.
