Improving Aptly Performance in Your Browser

Due to increased traffic and stale browsers, your experience in Aptly can be improved with these tips.

For the best experience using Aptly, we recommend accessing your account through Google Chrome. Chrome is the most compatible browser with Aptly’s features and provides the smoothest performance.

If you notice Aptly running slowly or not behaving as expected, here are some best practices to improve performance:

✅ Browser Best Practices

  1. Use Google Chrome
      • Aptly is optimized for Chrome. If you’re using another browser, switch to Chrome for better stability and speed.
  1. Keep Your Browser Updated
      • To update: Go to Settings → Help → About Google Chrome and relaunch when prompted.
  1. Clear Your Cache and Cookies
      • Over time, stored cache and cookies can slow things down or cause unexpected behavior.
      • Clear them regularly:
        • Click the three-dot menu in Chrome → More Tools → Clear Browsing Data.
        • Select Cached images and files and Cookies and other site dataClear data.
  1. Limit the Number of Open Tabs
      • Running multiple tabs (especially with resource-heavy sites) can reduce memory available for Aptly.
      • Close tabs you’re not actively using.
  1. Disable Unnecessary Extensions
      • Some Chrome extensions can interfere with Aptly’s performance.
      • To manage extensions: Go to Settings → Extensions and disable or remove any that aren’t essential.
  1. Use Incognito Mode for Troubleshooting
      • If Aptly isn’t loading correctly, try opening it in an Incognito window (Shift + Command + N on Mac / Shift + Ctrl + N on Windows).
      • This disables extensions and uses a fresh session, which can help identify if the issue is browser-related.
  1. Restart Your Browser Regularly
      • Leaving Chrome open for days at a time can use up system memory. Restarting helps refresh performance.
💡

If you’ve tried these steps and Aptly still feels slow, restart your computer to free up memory and ensure all updates are applied.

💻 Recommended System Requirements

For the best performance with Aptly, we recommend:

  • Browser: Google Chrome (latest version) or Microsoft Edge (latest version)
  • Operating System: Windows 10 or later / macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
  • Processor: Intel i5 / Apple M1 or better
  • Memory (RAM): At least 8 GB (16 GB recommended if you often multitask)
  • Internet Speed: Minimum 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload; 25+ Mbps recommended
  • Screen Resolution: 1280 x 800 or higher
