How to Navigate the New Card UI
Use the interactive image below by clicking on buttons and hovering over different parts of the New Card UI. To open in full screen, click the opposing arrows in the bottom right corner.
How to Edit the Widgets
- Double-click on a created card or click on the card first icon at the top of a selected card.
- In the top right corner, add a new widget by clicking +Widget.
- Select the widget to add to the current view.
- After selecting the new widget, you will be able to update the widget name if necessary. Be sure to click Save in the bottom right corner to add the widget to the view.
Below is a list of the different widgets available to add to the new card UI view.

Text | Add rich text to your card that can include instructional text or be used for tracking notes. |
Card Details | View and arrange card fields for easy access. |
Related Items | View all related contacts, locations, or other cards. |
Files | Manage and view any files attached to your card. |
Tasks | Display any tasks related to your card to ensure they get completed. Use additional filter options by clicking on the 3 vertical dots to view the More Options menu. |
Activities | This will allow you to view emails, SMS, calls, events, comments, and manual activities related to the card. You can filter by activity. |
Comments | Collaborate internally with your teammates with @mentions and comments. |
Events | Create and view events related to the card. This could include synced calendar events or scheduled tours. |
Video | You can add an instructional video to a card using the video embed code. |
Automations | This will allow you to see all automations that have or will occur to a card on this board. It will additionally include sections showing upcoming and conditional automations, as well as if an automation successfully triggered or is currently paused on your board. |
Stage | See the current card stage and how long the card has been in that current stage. |
Description | You can add a summary of the card. For example, a description for a support ticket could include the issue or question. |
Log Activity | This widget is especially helpful for quickly recording information, for example, notes from a call or walk-in. |
How to Set Up an Overview
The overview is the default card view that is set for all users of the board. Aptly will auto-populate four widgets in the overview based on the information fields set up when cards are created. The steps below will explain how to change those four views by adding or replacing widgets and reordering how they appear.
To set up the widgets in the overview:
- Click on the card icon at the top of the opened card or double-click on a card on the board.
- Aptly will have four default widgets selected for the overview. To edit or delete a default widget, select the gear icon in the top right corner of the widget you want to edit. Editing the widget will allow you to rename the widget and toggle any applicable settings that apply to that widget.
- To add a new widget to the view, follow the steps above in the How to Edit the Widgets setting: click on the +Widget option in the top right corner and select the widgets you would like to have visible in the Overview.
To update the order and size of the selected widgets:
- Click on the card icon at the top of the third pane view or double-click on a created card.
- In the bottom right-hand corner of the new card UI, there will be a black square with white boxes inside; select this button to reorder and resize.
- To move a widget, click on the item and hold while dragging the item to the area of the card you want it to be.
- To change the size of the widget, hover your mouse over the bottom right-hand corner of the widget that you want to expand or shrink.
How to Create a Custom View
Various users on each board can create their own custom view to quickly access pertinent information by following the steps below.
- Click on the card icon at the top of the third pane view or double-click on a created card.
- Select the +View button in the top right corner of the card.
- Update the title to reflect what the view will focus on or who the view is for.
- We recommend leaving the type as widget, as this will allow the view to be built around the quick view information that the select team or team members need to see.
- Selecting Public allows anyone with access to the board to see this created view. If Public is toggled to the off position, the view can be shared either with yourself, select users, or a pre-defined team.
- After the view has been created and saved, widgets can be added.
Call Crusher View
Upon selecting the +View option in the new card UI to create a custom view, there will be a prebuilt view that can be toggled on named Call Crusher. This view is an excellent option to add to your Renter Leads board or any other board where your team is frequently making external calls.
At the top, there will be a black bar with the following options:
- Caller ID (easy to display different property numbers when making outbound calls)
- Agent Number
- Dial Card Contact
- Record (can be toggled on or off depending on Twilio settings)
- Call button
To promote a streamlined workflow, there are three default widgets:
- Card Details: Fields that are anchored to a start card on the board will be displayed in this widget.
- Log Activity: Your team will be able to title an activity as it occurs, notate the type of activity (Call, Walk-in, Note, Meeting), include the date, find a related contact, and then add notes for follow-up. There is even the option to bring in a created template to ensure all relevant information is collected by your team. Be sure to click Save in the bottom center of the card to save the newly added information.
- Activities: Easily preview emails, SMS, calls, events, comments, and manual activities related to the card.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can custom views be private?
Custom views can be made private or public! After navigating into the card and selecting “+View” from the top right corner of the card, there will be a switch to toggle between public and private; the default will be to create a public view.
