The Diagnostics view is available on every board and provides a high-level overview of your board’s activity and performance. It offers valuable insights into board health, automation behavior, and recent updates — all within a rolling 30-day window.
30-Day Activity Window
All data in Diagnostics reflects the last 30 days of activity. This timeframe updates automatically each day and cannot be changed or customized.
Using Diagnostics Effectively
The Diagnostics tab helps you:
- Track workload trends through Created and Active cards
- Monitor automation performance and identify failed runs
- Review configuration or workflow updates in one place
- Troubleshoot automation errors quickly
- Maintain overall visibility into board activity and health
Diagnostics Widgets
There are five main widgets within the Diagnostics tab. Each one highlights a specific area of your board’s activity.
1. Created Cards
Displays the total number of cards created on the board in the past 30 days.
This helps track new items or incoming workload over time.
2. Active Cards
Shows the total number of active (open) cards on the board in the last 30 days.
This includes all cards that were open during the period, regardless of when they were created.
A downward trend typically indicates productivity — as tasks are completed and cards are closed, the active count should decrease.
3. Automation Count
Shows all automations configured on your board in a table format.
Each row includes:
- Automation name
- Trigger (what causes it to run)
- Type (what the automation does)
- Run count (how many times it’s been executed)
- Errors (if any)
- Last run date
You can click any line to expand it and view:
- The card the automation ran on
- A description of the automation
- A note about automation action
You can also:
- Click the automation title to open it directly in edit mode
- Click the card name to review card history
This widget is useful for understanding which automations are active and how often they’re triggered.
4. Automation Warnings
Lists all enabled automations that have encountered errors in the last 30 days.
Each entry includes:
- The automation name
- A short description
- The related card
- A note describing the issue
Click any line to expand the details, or select the automation name to open and edit it.
You can also click into the related card to fix the underlying data issue.
Common error:
“Error generating automation because there’s no valid email or SMS recipient.”
This means the card is missing the required contact information under either the Details tab or the Related tab. Once the missing contact is added, the automation should run correctly.
5. Recent Board Changes
This section functions like a detailed activity log for your board.
Each entry shows and can be sorted by:
- The user who made the change
- The type of update (for example, board change, field edit, automation adjustment)
- The item that was updated
- The previous and new values (shown in a code-style format)
- The date and time of the change
This log provides visibility into configuration and workflow updates, helping teams track adjustments or troubleshoot unexpected changes.
