
This guide walks you through how to invite yourself and your team to Aptly Access, download the mobile app, and register your account.
Invite Users to Aptly Access
- In the Aptly Web App, navigate to:
Locations → Locks → Manage Access

- Click Invite User and enter an email address to send an invitation.

Make sure users can access their inbox on their mobile phone.
- They’ll receive an invitation email that looks like this:
- Use the download links in the invitation email to install the Aptly Access App on your mobile device (available for iOS and Android).

Download the Aptly Access App
⚠️ If you clicked“Accept Invitation” before, simply download the app first, then return to your email to continue.
Accept the Invitation and Create Your Account
- Once the app is downloaded, return to the invitation email and tap “Accept Invitation.”
- You’ll see the following screen:
- Tap “Get Started.”
- If you already have an account, sign in.
- If not, tap “Don’t have an account? Sign up.”
- Enter your account details.
Be sure to include the country code:
+1
- You’ll receive a One-Time Password (OTP) for two-factor authentication. Enter the code to verify.
Enter Your Invite Code
- After completing 2FA, you’ll be prompted to enter your invite code.
- This code is included in your initial invitation email.
- Enter the code as shown:
- Once complete, you’ll see the success screen:
Before using Aptly Access
- Bluetooth is enabled
- You’ve allowed all permissions requested by the app
If You Did Not Click “Accept Invitation”
If you skipped the Accept Invitation step in your email:
- Open the Aptly Access App.
- Tap Profile in the bottom menu.
- Tap Redeem invite code and enter the invite code from your original email.
Troubleshooting
If you’re having trouble setting up your account or accessing Aptly Access:
Issue | Possible Cause | Recommended Action |
Didn’t receive invite email | Email was filtered or blocked | Check your spam/junk folder or verify the address entered in Aptly. You can also resend the invite email by clicking on the opposing arrows for the user and clicking Resend Invite. |
Error after clicking “Accept Invitation” | App not downloaded before accepting | Download the app first, then return to your invite email and click Accept Invitation again. |
Invalid invite code | Code was mistyped or expired | Double-check the invite email or ask your admin to resend the invitation. |
Can’t log in | Account not created yet | Use Sign Up instead of Sign In, or verify that you entered your number with +1. |
Bluetooth not working | Permissions not enabled | Go to your phone’s settings and enable Bluetooth and Location permissions for Aptly Access. |
