Buildium integrates with Aptly via the Buildium API available to all Buildium Premium users. The Buildium API syncs data every 4 hours without any continual effort from you. All you need to do is set it up and go.
How to Set Up Your Buildium Integration
There are a few things that you’ll need from Buildium to get started with your Buildium Integration with Aptly:
- Buildium Premium Plan - This is found in your Buildium account. It provides access to the API.
- Buildium API Key - Client ID and Secret - for step-by-step instructions, use Buildium’s API help documentation. All of the information you need to set up your API Key Configuration are found under the Getting Started section.
Setting Up the Integration in Aptly
Once you have your Client ID and Secret from Buildium (see above), go to Integrations 🔌 in Aptly to add in this information. Start from a board (you’ll have a basic Task board already added in Aptly when you first login).

- In Aptly, Toggle ON the Buildium integration.
- Enter your Buildium API Key’s Client ID and API Secret.
- Select a your bi-directional modes for Buildings, Units, Leases, and Work Orders. We recommend leaving it as Read Only if you are a new Aptly User. This will help prevent overwriting data as you learn how the systems work together.
- Click Save.
You’ll see a new navigation item appear on the left - Locations. The data will begin to sync here. It’ll take about 30 minutes for all Buildings, Units, Leases, and Contacts to sync to Aptly.

- I input my information in Card Sources, where is my data?
It can take 30 minutes for your data to sync, but if you have a lot of data or if there are other items in the queue to sync, it can take longer than expected. If it’s been more than a few hours, reach out to us at help@getaptly.com for assistance.
