Recurring tasks are a great way to coordinate and track repeating tasks. You can create them based on your preferred cadence and priority.
Create A Recurring Task
You can create a new recurring task on a card, by creating a new task template and setting up an automation.
Open the automation icon ✨ on the board the recurring task should populate on.
At the top left of the pop-up, select New Automation.
Select the appropriate folder and then toggle Enabled to turn the automation on.
Under Action select your desired criteria and click Save.
💡
In the example, the recurring task occurs based on “stage change = done,” moving the card back to the initial stage. Then the recurring task populates, starting the process over again for this card. You can adjust the trigger based on custom factors, depending on your process.
Next, select the task type and title your task.
💡
When selecting a task type you can choose from the options provided, such as a To-Do or an email task.
Lastly, determine the criteria for when the card should move to the start of the process, triggering the task to reoccur. In this example, the task will reoccur at the end of every month, after 8 A.M. your local time.
Assign a Recurring Task
A recurring task can be assigned in many different ways:
Manual Assignment
Specific User
Round Robin (by team or by user)
Specific Field
To assign the task:
Select Task Template on the left-hand side of the board.
Select the task you want to reoccur and then select the preferred assignment type/assignee.
Delete A Recurring Task
To delete a recurring task, click the automation icon on the appropriate board.
Click the three dots icon and select “delete” from the options.
💡
An automation can also be paused by toggling button to the off position.
