In the event that an applicant attempts to dispute their screening charges, you can ensure that your company is protected. The best way to do this is to make sure that your Application Terms are updated.


How to Update Application Terms

It’s important to review and update your application terms regularly.

Regularly updating application terms helps property management companies operate smoothly and maintain a positive relationship with potential tenants.

  1. Click on your avatar to access the menu.
  1. Click settings.
  1. Click screening management.
  1. Application terms are found in Board Settings.
  1. For the collection you need to update, click edit.
  1. Here you'll find all of the application settings related to the application process for the specified collection. Scroll down until you find the Application Conditions section.
  1. Click on the template. The Application Conditions are a template that you can select from existing templates or create a new one.
  1. As you can see here, the template was already added. If you need to make any updates, you can do so in this window.
  1. Once all changes have been made, click save.
  1. The template picker will appear after saving, but the template hasn't been changed. There is no need to select it again unless you want to change templates. Click the x or cancel to close the window. Now, the template is updated and will show under Application Terms in the Applicant Portal.

Application View

This is a view into the applicant portal. As you can see the agreeing to the application terms is the third step.

Here is the template that was selected and the area where the applicant can type their name in and sign.


How to View an Applicant’s Signed Application Terms

From the Application Household, you can view each applicant’s signed terms.

  1. This guide will walk you through accessing the applicant's documents section, finding the signed terms, and reviewing or downloading them.
  1. Access the applicant household by clicking on the opposing arrows.
  1. For each applicant, you can access additional options when you click on these three vertical dots.
  1. Download the signed application terms.
  1. The application terms are a PDF document saved to your computer. All of your application terms are downloaded.
  1. The applicant's signature, time stamp, and IP address are located on the last page.
