Aptly now allows you to customize which fields appear on your cards — so you can tailor what information shows at each stage of your workflow.
You can manage field visibility and layout for three different views:

- Start Card – what appears when creating a new card manually
- Card Preview – what appears in the panel on the right when you click on a card
- Card Detail – the full pop-out view of a card with widgets and custom views
Start Card

The Start Card controls what fields appear when you manually create a new card on a board.
To customize this view:
- Open your Board Settings.
- Select the Card Options section.
- Open the Start Card tab.
Here, you can:
- Toggle fields on or off – Only show the fields you want users to fill out when creating a card.
- Drag and drop fields – Reorder them in the order that makes the most sense for your workflow.
- Set required fields – Go to the Board Fields section and check the box under the Required column for any field that must be filled before a card can be created.
✅ Tip: Keeping only essential fields visible helps speed up card creation while ensuring key data is captured every time.
Card Preview

The Card Preview view controls what information appears in the right-hand panel when you select a card.
To customize this view:
- Go to your Board Settings.
- Open the Card Options section.
- Select the Card Preview tab.
From here, you can:
- Toggle on/off any field to show or hide it from the preview panel.
- Drag and drop fields to arrange them in your preferred order.
If a field is toggled off, it will remain hidden from the card preview — but will still exist on the card itself.
✅ Tip: Use this view to keep the most relevant details front and center — like applicant name, contact info, and stage — without overwhelming your screen.
Card Detail (Expanded Card View)

The Card Detail view is the full pop-out version of your card — where you can access every detail, custom view, and widget.
In this view, you can:
- Add or remove custom views like Tasks, Showings, Leases, or Knowledge.
- Manage widgets that display key information, such as notes, files, or related records.
- Reorder and customize how each section appears to match your workflow.
Any updates made here will apply to all users who open the card detail view on that board.
✅ Tip: Customize widgets to highlight the information your team references most often — like upcoming showings, lease details, or pending documents.
Why Customize Your Card Views?
Customizing card views helps your team:
- Focus on the most relevant data for their role.
- Speed up repetitive actions like card creation and review.
- Maintain consistency across boards and team members.
Whether you’re managing leads, residents, or properties, these options let you design a workspace that works the way you do.
