How to Pair Locks Manually

Pair a Smart Lock in order to use it with Aptly Access.

Getting Your Locks

You have two options for setting up your smart locks:

  • Order pre-paired locks directly from Aptly for a plug-and-play experience
  • Purchase and pair your own TTLock-compatible locks if you prefer to manage setup yourself

For the smoothest setup, we recommend ordering through Aptly. Locks arrive pre-paired, tested, and ready to assign to properties—no syncing or configuration required. To place an order, email sales@getaptly.com or contact your Account Manager.

Pairing a Lock with Aptly Access

If you’re setting up your own lock, here’s how to pair it with Aptly Access: We recommend you start with a test property. This gives you a safe environment to test functionality before assigning the lock to a live unit. This test setup allows you to verify that scheduling, self-guided tours, and remote unlocks are working as expected—before going live with residents or prospects.

💡

Your lock will come with instructions to pair with TT Lock, but you’ll skip that and follow the steps below.

  1. Download and install the lock pairing app for Aptly from the Apple App Store.
  1. Turn on the Smart Lock.
  1. Enable Bluetooth on your iPhone.
  1. Put your lock in pairing mode (Varies from lock to lock. Refer to your provided documentation for more details).
  1. In the Aptly Pairing App, navigate to Nearby from the menu at the bottom.
  1. Tap Scan in the top right corner. Your lock should appear on the screen.
  1. Tap on it to pair with the Aptly App. Once paired, you’ll hear and/or see a confirmation of it on your screen.
  1. Navigate to Devices at the bottom, and link the lock with the location.
💡

After pairing locks will also be installed in Aptly for you to manage.
