How can we help? 👋

Set up board reports

Add a Reports view, understand reporting scope, and distinguish board reports from Leaderboard settings and digest emails.

Use a Reports view to review a board’s activity and trends in one place. Start with a question—such as how many new inquiries arrived this month—then choose a report and date range that answer it.

Add a Reports view

  1. Open the intended board.
  1. Select New View, then Reports.
  1. Give the view a clear name.
  1. Review Private View and Protected View before saving. See Customize and manage board views for view-management guidance.
  1. Select Save when the name and settings are correct, then open the view from the board’s view tabs.
Choose Reports in the board’s New View picker. A custom dashboard or embedded app is a different view type.

Name the Reports view and review its visibility and protection options before saving.

If you already have a Reports view, open it rather than creating a duplicate. Available views depend on your board and access.

Read the report before comparing results

  1. Confirm the board and selected reporting period.
  1. Read each widget’s title and date basis. Cards created during a period are not the same measure as activity during that period.
  1. Check the card population and filters. Do not assume an activity-based widget includes every open card or every kind of activity.
  1. Compare like-for-like periods and definitions.
  1. Review underlying cards or conversations before acting on a surprising total.

For example, a lead created April 30 and contacted May 2 is outside a May created-date cohort. Whether its May activity appears in another widget depends on that widget’s definition.

Choose a small number of useful measures. See Read email automation reports for sending and engagement interpretation, or Report on stage group conversion for conversion questions.

Reports, Leaderboard and digest emails are different

Open Settings → Reporting to review the board’s reporting controls. Do not change them simply to add a view.

  • Include activities on Leaderboard includes the board’s tasks and activities in Team Performance.
  • Board Digest controls summary emails. Review the intended recipients and cadence before enabling or changing it.
  • Other options vary by board type. Read the setting’s description before saving.
Reporting settings are separate from adding a Reports view. Enabling digest emails is not required just to open a report.

If a report is empty or looks wrong

  • Check dates and filters first.
  • Confirm that the board contains records relevant to the metric.
  • Compare the widget’s date basis with a known example card.
  • Check access if the expected view or controls are missing.
  • Do not delete widgets or change stages merely to make totals match.

For help, share the board and view links, widget name, selected dates and filters, and one example card showing the discrepancy.
