Understanding User Roles in Aptly Access

Identify and define different user roles in Aptly Access

There are three different types of users who use Aptly Access: the property management team, residents, and prospects. Each user accesses the lock in a different way. Below you'll find a breakdown of each user's access point.

Property Managers

Residents

Apps Used: Resident App

Residents can:

  • Unlock the door via Bluetooth
  • Generate new passcodes
  • Invite other residents
💡

A branded app can be added on to your Access package at an additional cost.

Prospects & Residents

Apps Used: NoKey mobile app

Prospects can:

  • Unlock doors via Bluetooth* with the NoKey app
  • Receive passcodes from property managers
  • Bluetooth unlock works regardless of code status.

Residents can:

  • Unlock the door via Bluetooth
  • Generate new passcodes
  • Invite other residents

Keep in Mind

  • Use Bluetooth unlock as the fastest fallback when a passcode fails.
  • Keep the Master code strictly controlled; treat it like a physical master key.
  • First use within 24 hours is required for all time-period codes to remain valid.

We're excited for you to experience the convenience that is Aptly Access. As you begin to invite your team, residents, and prospects into their respective apps, we have many resources available to you:

  • Schedule time with your Account Manager
  • In-app chat support for prospects
